User Management

Create Login/password accounts

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 83 views

Visual Guard allows administrators to create and manage login/password–based user accounts directly within the repository. This authentication method is ideal for environments that do not rely on external identity providers or require standalone user access. By centrally managing credentials, password policies, and security rules, Visual Guard ensures controlled access while maintaining flexibility and ease of administration.

Purpose of Login and Password Accounts

🔑 Self-contained authentication

Login and password accounts provide a fully self-contained authentication mechanism within Visual Guard, removing any dependency on external identity providers. This approach is ideal when external directories are unavailable or not required, allowing authentication to function independently and reliably.

🗄️ Centralized credential management

All user credentials, including usernames and passwords, are managed directly within Visual Guard. Administrators can create, update, and maintain credentials from a single interface, ensuring consistent access control and simplified administration without relying on third-party systems.

🛡️ Security policy enforcement

Visual Guard enforces configurable password policies such as complexity rules, expiration, and reuse restrictions. Optional multi-factor authentication (MFA) can be enabled to add an extra layer of security, helping organizations meet internal security standards and reduce the risk of credential-based attacks.

🔐 Controlled and secure access

This authentication model ensures that only explicitly authorized users can access Visual Guard. Administrators have full control over account status, permissions, and access restrictions, enabling precise management of who can log in and what actions they are allowed to perform.

👥 Support for external or temporary users

Login and password accounts simplify onboarding for external users such as partners, contractors, or temporary staff. Accounts can be created quickly with limited and time-bound access, making it easier to provide secure access without extending privileges within enterprise identity systems
