Migrating Legacy versions Visual Guard 2020.3 or Earlier

When migrating a Visual Guard repository created with Visual Guard 2020.3 or an earlier version to Visual Guard 2024.9 or later, the legacy migration assembly is required to ensure compatibility with the legacy repository data.

Prerequisite

Obtain the following assembly from Visual Guard Customer Support:

Novalys.VisualGuard.Security.Migration.dll

Installation

Before starting the migration, copy the assembly to the following directory on the machine where the Visual Guard Console migration is performed:

<InstallerPath>\VisualGuardConsole

For example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Novalys\Visual Guard 2024.9\VisualGuardConsole

Migration

Once the assembly has been copied to the required directory, start the Visual Guard Console and proceed with the repository migration.

Note: This assembly is required only when migrating repositories from Visual Guard 2020.3 or earlier versions. For repositories already migrated to a later Visual Guard version, the legacy migration assembly is not required.
