Create or select an existing repository

Estimated reading: 1 minute 2048 views

The first step in setting up your environment in Visual Guard is to either create a new repository or select an existing one. The repository acts as the central storage for all your security configurations, including users, roles, permissions, and access rules. It essentially holds the complete definition of how access control is managed within your application.

Creating a new repository is typically done when starting a fresh project or setting up a new environment, while selecting an existing repository allows you to continue working with previously defined configurations. This flexibility makes it easy to manage multiple projects, environments (such as development, testing, and production), or reuse existing setups without starting from scratch.

By organizing all security-related data in a repository, Visual Guard ensures consistency, easier maintenance, and better control over your application’s access management.
