Add a windows User

Visual Guard allows you to add Windows user accounts.

Note:

  • You will be allowed to access the user accounts only if you have been assigned the privilege. Refer special roles section for more details on privilege

Follow the steps below to Add a Windows User.

Step 1: Login to the Repository under which user account(s) is to be created. 


Step 2: Go to the User section –> Add user –> Click on Add Windows User ot Group.


Step 3: The below page will be displayed as shown below.

A – Account Details

  • Domain: Select the Windows domain from which users or groups will be retrieved.
  • Locations: Select the location or organizational unit within the selected domain to search for users or groups.
  • User/Group selection: Select this option to search for and display Windows user accounts or groups.
  • Search Criteria: Select the search condition to apply when searching for users or groups (for example, Starts With).
  • LoginName / DisplayName / EmailAddress: Enter the login name, display name, or email address to filter the search results
  • Find Now: Searches the selected domain and location based on the specified criteria and displays the matching users or groups.
  • Results Grid: Displays the users or groups returned by the search, including Login Name, Display Name, Email Address, Description, and Folder information.

B – Roles

Displays the roles available for assignment. Select the required role(s) (click on the check box) to Grant/Revoke the roles to the user.

Remove All – Removes all roles currently assigned to the user.

Click on Create to add the user to windows.
