Generate Permission Matrix

The Generate Permission Matrix feature in Visual Guard provides a clear and structured view of how roles and permissions are assigned within a group. Instead of manually reviewing access configurations, this feature allows administrators to generate a consolidated document that maps roles to their associated permissions, making access control easier to understand and manage.

What is a Permission Matrix?

A permission matrix is a tabular representation that shows:

• Roles assigned to a group
• Permissions linked to each role
• The overall access structure within the application

It acts as a snapshot of the current access configuration, helping administrators quickly analyze who has access to what.

How It Works

Step 1: Navigate to the Shared Groups section in the WebConsole –> Select the desired group –> Go to Role Actions –> Click on Generate Permission Matrix

Step 2: Choose the appropriate options for generating permission matrix –> click on OK

An excel file will be generated and saved in your downloads.
