Edit Group Properties
The Edit Group Properties feature in Visual Guard allows administrators to update the core details of an existing group, such as its name and description. This helps ensure that group information remains accurate, meaningful, and aligned with organizational standards.
Maintaining clear and up-to-date group properties improves visibility and makes it easier for administrators to identify and manage groups effectively within the system.
To modify group details follow the steps below:
Step 1: Select the Repository > Groups from the Left Navigation Panel.
Step 2: Click on the Group Name to modify the Group details –> Properties tab will be open by default.
Following options will be available to you.
- ID: The ID is a unique identifier assigned to each group in Visual Guard. It is used internally to distinguish the group from others and cannot be duplicated.
- Display Name: The Display Name represents the user-friendly name of the group. It is visible in the interface and helps administrators easily identify the group.
- Description: The Description provides additional details about the group’s purpose or usage. It helps administrators understand the role of the group within the organization.
- Data: The Data field allows administrators to store additional information or custom values related to the group. This can be used for specific configurations or extended metadata.
- Is Contextual: The Is Contextual option defines whether the group is context-specific. When enabled, the group can be applied dynamically based on specific conditions or contexts within the application.
Step 3: Modify the details and click “Save” to save the details.
Note: The updated details will be displayed under the group name.
